    Upgrading my NAS

    Hi

I currently have a QNAP TS101 with 320gb. I'm happy with it but am reaching its max capacity. I have 7k+ songs all in FLAC. I would imagine I will be up at around 20k in the next year or so all in FLAC.
I'd ordered a Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ 1TB with 256mb ram. Having read the reports on here and the Netgear site, I've just cancelled the order and put the £580 aside for a different box!
Can it really be slower than the QNAP TS101 wih 16mb of ram?
I'm happy with the speed of the QNAP but I'm now running 3 SB3's and can see me adding 2 more all via wireless connections. I want low power consumption. I don't care about noise, performance is more important to me. I need at least the same response from the new box as I get from my current TS101. I would like better performance and at least 1TB but with the option for plenty more (3-4TB) I have a laptop and don't want a desktop computer and I don't want to be messing with building my own box up from bits.
The Thecus N5200 Pro seems to be getting some good reports.
Any idea where to get one for the best price in the UK?
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks Gareth

Doesn't seem to be a UK distributor at present. Perhaps send them an email and enquire. A Thecus N5200PRO would be a great option for you based on the requirements you've articulated.

    Thecus UK

Do a Google search for Thecus UK. Looks like there are a number of retailers including Amazon. I agree with EGD the THecus looks like it would fit our needs. I also am using the Thecus and am happy I went this way.

I'll leave that mantle to Pellicle, I'm just a happy Thecus N5200PRO owner.

Scan are a great company, i order from them regularly. I also know some of their staff from the support forums on Hexus

Thecus also have an official support forum there.
