I believe I saw somewhere that SoftSqueeze had been updated to 3.5 now for SC7.0. I have updated to SVN 14891, and when I go to Extras->SoftSqueeze and "Click to install and run SoftSqueeze", it still runs version 3.4.
Is 3.5 not yet live, or do I have to uninstall 3.4 manually first?

SoftSqueeze 3.5

You're right - I hunted around within SoftSqueeze trying to find a version number and couldn't find one, so I uninstalled 3.4 and reinstalled from the Extras->SoftSqueeze install link. I saw this say version 3.5 briefly, and I also see that it says version 3.5 in the preferences Basic screen. I think maybe an uninstall is required for 3.5 to be picked up correctly.
I have an issue with the icon moving around on the desktop when clicked again, so I have to apply my workaround fix of copying the icon somewhere else and then moving it back to the desktop - it then sticks to where you put it.

Installed Softsqueeze 3.5 on my Mac running leopard. I don't hsve Squeezecenter installed.
The good news: It syncs!
The bad news: The audio is distorted and it "buzzes" - it sounds like somone playing a fuxx guitar.
Has anyone else got this working?

Works for me but the installation doesn't seem sorted out.
I've noticed that 3.3. and 3.4 are still mentioned in my Add/Remove programs, so now I appear to have three SoftSqueezes installed! I'd have assumed that the older versions would have been automatically uninstalled when installing a later version.
The later Softsqueze installs into it's own directory in Windows Progrem Files whereas earlier versions are installed within the SlimServer/SqueezeCernter directories.
I now have just 3.5 installed. I then did a clean install of SC 7. It indicates that I do not have SoftSqueeze installed and wants me to install it (under the SC directory I think).
Although SoftSqueeze 3.5 seems to work fine the Transporter skin has lost it's transparent background, which is now white. The TransNav knob doesn't seem to work to well either... but that's probably due to my unfamiliarity with it.

You should be able to remove these obsolete versions from your
add/remove list without too much difficulty.
I find that the best way to upgrade Softsqueeze is to go into the Java control panel applet and delete the old version from Java's downloaded applications list first.
Unfortunately SUN keeps re-arranging the location of this setting but with the 1.6 JVM you'll find it under
Start->Settings(Control Panel)->Java
Once the Java control panel applet opens, go to
General->Temporary Internet Files->View
After a bit of searching a dialog will appear. Select any old copies of Softsqeeze and hit delete.
Then on the toolbar at the top of the dialog, switch from Show Applications to Show Deleted Applications and remove Softsqueeze from the deleted list.

has anyone gotten this to work on Leopard yet? It runs on my Macbook, but the sound is very distorted and the volume is low. 3.4 works fine on my machine.

I've been using this on Windows Vista and XP the last couple of weeks and it seems to be working very well. Thanks!

Using this more and more on the road. Loving it.
Is there an official place to put enhancement requests, though?
One thing that I would like would be the ability to pause/play by right-clicking on the program in the Windows task bar without having to expand it and then click on the pause. This would be more convienent when people come into the office or the phone rings, etc.
One last question: Is this version deployed into the SC build/deployment yet or do you still have to go get it on your own? If its going to be awhile could this, or some other thread, be created as a sticky with a link to it in the beta forum? It would make it easier to get to and install on other computers, etc.
