No other apps seem to have memory/crashing issues...I've upgraded to 1/24
from 1/12 - 1/13 (did happen 2x's) so I'll see if it happens again, and if I
can reproduce it.

So far the only case we've had of perl actually crashing was traced to
bad hardware - a RAM upgrade actually. Are you seeing any other
instability on the machine?
