When does SC7.0 download new Jive firmwares?

I had been under the impression that SqueezeCenter only checks for new Jive firmware at startup. But today it I noticed a new version (r885) got downloaded even though SC7.0 hadn't been restarted. Have things changed? If they have, when does SC7.0 check for new Jive firmwares? (Note: I'm not complaining - just curious).

Daily, I believe. It hasn't changed.

Whenever Jive seems to be acting odd, I switch-players and see there was an update.

Yes, once a day.

I could be guessing, but today, I noticed it update around 1:00 PM EST. A week ago, I think it was around 8:00 AM EST. It's once a day, but the time is rarely exact. Probably updates when the build machines are done, which, from experience of administering similar machines at my own company, can vary greatly.

Slimserver probably checks for updates regularly (maybe once an hour or so) and downloads the new build as soon as it is available. If there were more than one build per day I think we would see more than one download as well.
