    Connecting to Bose 321

    Hi everyone !

What would be the best way to connect the Squeezebox to my Bose 321 GS DVD system to achieve best possible sound quality ??

The bose has an Optical digital in socket so i'm presuming this connected to the squeezebox optical out ???

    Thanks

Yes, the optical digital in socket is audio input according to Bose 321 GS DVD system (3 audio inputs - 3 analog, 3 coaxial digital, 1 optical digital)

You should also try the other option - connect the SB analog outs to an analog in on the Bose. Both outputs are "live" on the SB so you should be able to plug both in and switch between them on the Bose to see which you like best.

If, for example, the SB's DAC is "better" than the DAC in the Bose, you may get better results using the analog connection - unless, of course, the Bose (like many other units) does an ADC conversion on its analog inputs before doing a DAC conversion later, in which case you're probably wasting your time with this option.
