    Most MP3 streams don't work

As far as streaming all my music it works fine. I have also set up the
device wired and wireless with good performace for both.

What I am having problems with are getting many mp3 streams to work. I have
copied a bunch of xxx.pl files from radio stations, Shoutcast, etc but only
about 1 in 10 work. Most of them don't play at all and others play be cut
    out every few seconds.

These streams ALL work on WinAmp very reliably. I still have no idea what
is going on. What are some of the success rates with MP3 streams that you
    are getting?

what version of the server are you running, and on what OS? If you haven't
tried any of the nightly builds, you may find that they have much improved
    performance with shoutcast streams:

    Most MP3 streams don't work

I have downloaded a number of nightly builds and while some things were
fixed many streams still wont play.

    Here is my setup:
WinXP (up to date via windows update)
    SlimServer Versions 5.03
    Squeezebox Player Firmware 6

In general if I grab a ".pls" file from Shoutcast and place it in the
"Playlists" folder it does show up on under "Saved Playlists" but most often
it will just show the text/ip for the station on the Squeezebox but no
    audio.

    Any ideas/tips/thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Dana

Try the latest nightly, as there were fixes in the last couple days that may
help. There is also new firmware, which you can upgrade to by pressing and
holding the brightness button until the server says your upgrade is complete.

If you still have trouble, please post a sample pls file that is giving you
trouble. You can also try turning on d_remotestream and d_source in the server
settings, additional settings, debugging section. You will then get a message
at the top of the web UI which includes a link to the log. There may be
information in there that will help determine what is happening.

Well I don't know if the new build helped but I ended up parsing out the
actuall text from the HTML page at shoutcast.com. These pls files are
diffrent in that they point back to Shoutcast and then return 2 or 3
streams..... All I know is that now most of the Shoutcast stations play
without any problems. The few that don't have diffrent links and I suspect
they are MP3pro or some other non-standard MPEG stream.

Anyway things are looking much better. Now its time to debug that
    ShoutcastBrowser.pm

    Thanks for you help.
