I'm pleased to announce the first release of the plugin you used to know as SlimScrobbler, for SqueezeCenter/SlimServer 7.0:
SqueezeScrobbler 1.0
The new SqueezeScrobbler plugin merges the old SlimScrobbler and LastFM plugins into one, providing all the old functionality and some new features.
This version is a fully functional release, with two known issues:
1) The LastFM radio DOES NOT WORK on pre-SB2 players. It appears to work until the end of the first song, at while point the audio output of the player will stop until SlimServer is restarted!
If you want to use the plugin with a Slimp3, SB1 or SBG, please vote for this bug (it's not really a bug yet, but it really needs someone who understands the firmware to investigate) http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5629
2) The web interface doesn't look very good in the new Default skin. I am aware of this, but waiting for skin development to slow down a little before fixing it.
To install:
* Download the zip file of the plugin here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=105780
* Place the SqueezeScrobbler folder and contents from the zip file into the 'Plugins' directory of your SqueezeCenter installation.
* Delete any old SlimScrobbler plugin.
* Restart SqueezeCenter
* Enter your LastFM account(s) in the Settings->LastFM/SqueezeScrobbler section.
* Away you go!

Thanks James,
I have installed SqueezeCenter, and SqueezeScrobbler. Restarted the server, and found a new entry in the extras. However, none of the labels come through. I found an entry in the menu (without labels), and found a field that seems consistent with login name and password. I see some other checkboxes and textboxes, but without the labels, I have no idea what they mean.
I run SqueezeCenter in English, in the default site layout. I also tried the Classic layout, but same issue.
I also found that the scrobbling did not work. Probably related to me not setting the right settings
What have I done wrong?Last edited by matthijskoopmans; 2007-10-01 at 02:01.

That is strange!
Can you check you have file strings.txt in Plugins/SqueezeScrobbler? If so please check the server log file for any string related errors.
I'll see if I can recreate the problem.

I've met the same problem... installed, set login/pass, restarted... there was a setting menu but no "lasFM" menu.
I restarted, nothing changed. Switched to fishbone... and it appeared. Switched back to default... nothing... refreshed... there it was in default skin.
Now it's in both skins, there is no problem. It could be both a problem with the cache (browser, SC...) or with my eye (didn't really know where to find the menu so I could have missed it).
Anyway, no it's on and it's terrible! Much cleaner than the old 6.5 version (I don't know why, but the 6.5 I add never worked cleanly: long pauses, strange behaviour, tune url only on even days, etc.)

Hi James,
Yes I have the strings.txt (I have attached it). The log file is rather large. I did not know where to look, so I attached the entire file.
Thanks for making this plugin. It is a Beta for a Beta, so no worries, it is expected that things don't work for everyone at delivery. I hope it is not a user error, so your time spent is worth it for all...
Cheers

I am making some progress. When unpacking the zip file with the plugin, it actually placed it in SqueezeScrobbler_v1.0/SqueezeScrobbler (as sub of Plugins). I have moved the SqueezeScrobbler now directly into the plugins directory (../plugins/SqueezeScrobbler), and see the LastFM/SqueezeScrobbler label in the Extras menu.
However, I do not see the plugin settings. When clicking settings, the following error message is displayed: 404 Not Found: plugins/SqueezeScrobbler/settings/basic.html
I do have this subdirectory under ../SqueezeScrobbler/HTML/EN/...
Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi Matt, seems like you've solved the missing strings. You could see in the log file that SlimServer wasn't loading the strings.txt file from SqueezeScrobbler (look for Loading String File).
The missing web page I don't know. It could be an artifact of starting with the plugin in the wrong place. Try stopping SlimServer and clearing up your cache directory (keeping the MySQL dir depending on how large your database is!)

Thanks James.
One question, as this seems to have changed in SqueezeCenter: where is the cache located? I am running Windows Vista...

Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0forSqueezeCenter 7.0
I would expect it to be in the SqueezeCentre installation, but I've no
idea if this has moved on Vista!

Hi James,
After some searching, I found that in vista, the directory can be found at c:\ProgramData\SlimServer. ProgramData is a hidden directory.
Clearing the cache has solved the settings issue. I now have full settings with labels. However, after configuring, the scrobbling still does not seem to work.
on the player, in the extras menu, there is an entry for lastFM/SqueezeScrobbler. In this menu, however, there are no labels (entering the menu results in blank display).
Again, I have attached the log-file.
Thanks for your help so far.
Cheers
