    WMA radio not streaming

    Hi,

I'm running on the same network the old SliMP3 and Squeezebox3 hardware. I'm using SlimServer 6.5.1 on Windows XP.

I managed to listen to WMA radios (Cherie FM in Paris from the Slim Devices Picks) on SliMP3, but not on SB3 !

On SB3, I'm getting a "timed out" message. If I increase the radio time-out, I'm getting a "Rien" (= nothing in French) message on the display.

If I'm setting the BW limit to 320kb, then, it's working ! I realized that this is because the server is converting the WMA stream into MP3, always for SliMP3, and if I set BW limit to 320kb on SB3.

But then how can I have SB3 understanding WMA ? I don't want to convert to MP3 and reduce quality... I thought SB3 can understand WMA ?

Any body got the same issues ?

    Thanks to all,
    Francois.

WMA is a variety of things: there are multiple codecs that all fall under the WMA name. Some of these are not supported. The most common would be WMA-Lossless and there is a WMA-Speech codec (designed for compressing speech).
