    Controlling squeezebox from laptop?

I have done a search and am sure it is covered somewhere but perhaps my wording is not the best. What I want to do is instead of using the "remote control" is control my Squeezebox from my laptop while accessing the music off of the main large capacity PC in my basement. Is there a simple way to do this?

Just point the browser on your laptop to http://<slimserver_ip>:9000/ , but putting the IP address of your basement pc in place of <slimserver_ip>.

Thanks for the quick response. A few follow up questions... Do I need to have the slimserver installed on my laptop along with Softsqueeze and is that the same ip address that I am showing on the Squeezebox or if not how do I locate the ip address to use. Sorry for asking probably very basic questions.

    No.

It's the IP address of the server your squeezebox connects to. On the SB Menu do Settings->Information->Server Information and scroll down to Host IP address.

I meant to add there are several Windows apps such as Moose which can control the player, have a look here - http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cg...RemoteControls

Wow who needs Sonos. Moose makes your laptop like a remote controller x 10
