Adding CPAN modules to WinXP slimserver

Once again I must ask you to beat with a new user.

I am trying to get the RSSCruzer plugin working.
I realise that I need extra perl modules.

I have downloaded them from CPAN but can't make them work.

Should they be under the CPAN directory?
    In a subdirectory eg. XML?

or should they be in the plugin directory?

Do I have to do anything to register them or does the server (or perl
    environment just find them?)

How do I know their dependancies?

I am running the service Slimserver on WinXP pro.

I think I asked a similar question the other night but didn't get to the
bottom of it and can't track down the thread right now.

    Thanks,
    Bruce.

I've tried beating new users, and while it does offer some transitory
satisfaction, helping them is more lasting :-)

    I don't believe the executable you've downloaded will work in this way;
you'll need to get Active State Perl, then use their tool (ppa I think?)
to browse and get the modules. You may also need to get the Perl source
    distribution of Slimserver.

There was a note that from the 27th Dec build extra Perl modules could be
added to the windows version, or at least that's how I read it.
I have downloaded ActiveState Perl and installed it.
If I run their PPA and search RSS for exmaple, I get:

    1. RSS-Parser-Lite [0.10] A simple pure perl RSS parser.
    2. RSS-Parser-Lite [0.10] A simple pure perl RSS parser.
    3. XML-RSS-Parser [0.21] A liberal parser for RSS Feeds.
    4. XML-RSS-Parser [0.21] (none)
    5. XML-RSSLite [0.11] lightweight, "relaxed" RSS (and XML-ish) parser
    6. XML-RSSLite [0.11] (none)

none of these seem to be the same as when I search CPAN for RSS and get
    XML::RSS.

    Am I missing the point?
Do I need to link Active state Perl and the slimserver in some way or will
the Perl stuff just find each other?

    Thanks,
    Bruce.

I'm not sure -- I don't have any Windows systems to test with.
Theoretically it's possible to make them use each other's environments,
but someone with Windows will probably have to help from here.
