A while back there was a good tip about setting up EAC to use the MusicBrainz database instead of freedb (see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30827). Lately that URL hasn't worked for me. Does anyone know one that does? Thanks!

I always end up tidying tags with mp3tag, which can be configured to search MusicBrainz (by album name) to collect tag info.

I just installed the MusicBrainz Picard app from Ubuntu.. wow, it does a way better job at identifying some of my tracks than freedb was doing. It even identified and taged an album I never had tags for to begin with.
It does sometimes miss-classify tracks out of album. It wanted to put one of the tracks from Etta James "Her Best" into "At Last".. but I suppose if it were more integrated into the ripping app it would be easier to force album identities.

That looks useful. Thanks for posting it.
I tend to use Discogs mostly at the moment, and while that's good enough, it doesn't work with compilation albums, so I'll give MusicBrainz a go.
