    rhapsody and endless firmware upgrade

    Hi Gang,

I have a frustrating problem. When logged onto squeeze network and try to listen to Rhapsody on my SB, I received a message saying that a firmware upgrade is needed and that I should hold the brightness key to do that. I did that, no problem, and then I could listen to Rhapsody.

But then when I logged off SN and back onto slimserver, I got the same message: hold the brighness key for a firmware upgrade. I did that (I had no choice). The firmware upgraded and SB did a factory reset. I set up SB again. But then when I logged back onto SN and tried Rhapsody, I was again told that I need a firmware upgrade and that I should hold the brightness key. I did that again and got Rhapsody working but then when I logged off SN and on to slimserver, I AGAIN got the message that I should hold the brightness key for a firmware upgraded. Doing that again got SS working but then I could no longer listen to Rhapsody.

So, there is this endless loop. If I try to listen to Rhapsody, I have to do an ungrade. Then, when I log back onto slimserver, I have to do another ungrade that prevents me from listening to Rhapsody without an upgrade, which if I do, then forces me to do an upgrade to log back onto slimserver, which then prevents me from listening to Rhapsody without an ungrade, etc.

This is ridiculous. I have had flakey problems with SS before, but this is the stupidest bug I have encountered. Any thoughts?

My Qnap TS101 will only spin the harddrive down running 6.3.It would appear from slimpys link that only upgrading to 6.5 can fix the firmware loop issue.(In my case accessing Pandora). Has anyone got the fixed it running 6.3?

It comes up so many times, we need a sticky post on the firmware issue as well as on the socketwrapper problem
