Guys...I have 3 problems....The first one is me. I'll deal with that.

Bought me a new external drive at weekend to house my rapidly expanding mp3 collection and to free up space. Drive installed and running no problem. The new external drive is J:
I use I tunes as my library and for creating playlists for SB.
I told SB to now look in J:\my music for files. No problem...SB found the new drive J: and loves it to bits.

However, not so with ITunes. I told ITunes to look in J:\my music but it wouldn't play any tracks as they had moved. So, I deleted the ITunes library info and re-added them from J:\my music. Tried to add 3000 mp3's to the ITunes library but only 2950 added succesfully. ??? Tried simply dragging and dropping the remaining 50 from music folder into ITunes (as I always do)...wouldn't have it. Tried adding them again through file>add file to library - wouldn't have any of them and no explanation why! Tried them 1 by 1, in batches, you name it. No joy. No rhyme or reason to the batch of 50 that won't add.

Problem 3.... SB will no longer recognise ITunes playlists. I used to simply drag and drop from ITunes main library into a playlist, then re-scan playlists in SB interface...Bingo!
Not doing it anymore though...I have told SB to look in J: for playlists...and to use ITunes.

    ????????????

Are the problematic files read-only? I don't know if that matters or not, but the thought popped in my head. Perhaps iTunes tries to write some tags to the file when it is imported.

Is there anything unique about these files? Do they all have anything in common?

Do the files play back OK in another player? Maybe the files are corrupted.
