So I did the upgrade which come from http://wiki.slimdevices.com/?DebianPackage.

    apt-get remove --purge slimserver
    apt-get update
    apt-get install squeezecenter

    Then got this,

    'E: Couldn't find package squeezecenter'

So anybody know what's wrong with it and what should I do next?
Has anyone on this forum successfully put Squeezecenter 7 on a FreeLink LinkStation? I have not experimented with it yet. Getting the 6.5 SlimServer implemented requires a lot of detailed steps.

    See post #6 here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39287

The thread is titled LinkStation HG, but this weekend someone posted about a successful SC7 installation on a LinkStation Pro, which if I recall correctly is what you have.

yes, I have. But it seems that the server given by slimdevices contains nothing.

Yes, I have SC7 running on a LinkStation Pro v2 (ARM hardware) with FreeLink. And it does, in fact, require many detailed steps.

Once the wiki make the mediawiki migration, I'll post complete step-by-step instructions.

    farallon,

In the interim, any chance you can just post the instructions as text right in this thread? I've really been banging my head over the past couple of weeks trying to get SC7 to run.

i've been running it on a linkstation pro for a few weeks now. i've posted about it in various threads, eg

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44335
    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44737
    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44610

the main deviations from the instructions already on the wiki and the freelink site are that i needed to compile my own mysql, and i needed to put a lot of stuff on the pro's disk because the partition with freelink on it isn't very big. the rest of the problems i've had have been with my own music (eg ogg vorbis files with ID3V2 headers thanks to some dodgy ripping software in the past)

Sure, I'll do that tonight when I get home.
As an bonus: it works with the stock mysql on the box.
