Yes, I have *searched* and yes I see there is at least one other thread with the words "nintendo wii" in it but no solution was found there so...
As I'm sure at least a few of you know the Opera web browser is now available (as a beta) for the Nintendo Wii. The browser itself is Flash 7 capable and I've already played many flash games on it, watched videos on youtube and even listened to some music via embedded flash players on some web sites! I'm currently running an early alpha of the Wii Media Center software from Red Kawa (http://www.redkawa.com) but this is not the same thing as sharing my slimserver with the other devices in my home.
What I would like to know is if anyone has figured out a way to run slimserver over the opera browser or thinks they can tackle it?
I thought maybe if there was a way to develope a new slimserver theme with an embedded flash player that maybe that would work but I'm not sure. Or would it take some sort of special web portal?
Not to diss the excellent slim devices hardware but slimserver over a Wii would let me put a video/music/web-browsing/game console on each tv in my home for under $250
Thanks in advance!

The Roku HD10000 does that. It's just slow. SB is designed for audio and it does it better than anything else on the market in for less than $500.
FWIW, I own a Wii and it works great for it's intended application as well, playing games!! I'm also keeping tabs on the WiiLi project as it would be interesting to see what the Wii could do for video but it will never replace my SB. My TV is on less than 8 hours a week where at least one SB is on nearly all the time.Last edited by notanatheist; 2007-01-24 at 00:20.

Yes, thanks guys, but I too found that thread before I started mine.
The "Touch" theme is fine if you want to use the Wii to control Slimserver and play music through a *squeezebox*.
I'd like to be able to put a Wii in the kid's bedrooms (since they pretty much think they are getting them anyway) and allow them to play music off the server without a squeezebox...
This would require a flash-based mp3 player embedded in the browser or the slimserver page, if serving a flash player will suffice to provide 'server with a unique IP for each Wii.

Yeah if anyone has a solution to this or knows of a Flash player that'll play Slimserver's mp3 stream, I think it would be wonderful to access music libraries and play them via the Wii. All of the embedded Flash player's I've tried haven't worked.

Agreed
I finally got a Wii, and would LOVE LOVE LOVE for SlimServer to have this functionality. In the meantime I'm messing with Orb (www.orb.com), but yeah, having one interface to both my squeezebox and my Wii would be great. Just need a Flash player right in the Slimserver pages. And you know what? That could be useful for non-Wii owners as well, to have the music playing right from a player on the Slimserver page instead of through ../stream.mp3 or Softsqueeze.

Please help...downloaded and installed Wii internet channel, works fine. When I type in the squeezecentre address it can't find the page, says it's not available when it clearly is...any ideas?

SlimFX (http://solaristics.net/slimfx/) is a flash based app for controlling SqueezeCenter. It's still in early development but I'll give it a go on my wii. I would have thought it should be possible (if we ask nicely enough) to have a player added into it.
Update:
Just tried SlimFX on the wii and it doesn't load at all, complains about unsupported OS

I also just got a WII and here are two things that I would love:
1. Control Squeezecenter from the WII
2. Have the audio from Guitar Hero route through the Squeezecenter with no lag so I can crank up the volume.
