I'm wearing out the Squeezebox playing their album "The Dark Third" over and over. They're a British band that's playing what is known as "new prog". Obvious Pink Floyd influences, with some great vocal harmonies and actually a bit of a metal edge as well, also a somewhat grungy sound. The album is a loose concept album--all the songs flow together and there's a recurring theme of sleep and dreams.
If you're a fan of 70s or 80s prog or bands like The Mars Volta or Sigur Ros you'll probably enjoy this as well. It's now right up there with the Flaming Lips album for my favorite of 2006. It's also beautifully recorded--Paul Northfield produced it (he produced several Rush albums--who are another potential influence in the mix).

I am getting quite a bit of mileage out of this CD as well. I will be lucky enough to catch them live this spring at NEARfest...One of the bands I'm most looking forward to.
