    plugins question

Newbie here with first of probably many questions. First off, thing thing is WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYY cool. Ok, my question is about plugins. Do I have to install the plugins in each computer or only on the computer that is housing my audio files? That is, do I install plugins on my laptop as well as my 2 desktop computers??
    Thanks,
    Mike

I have slimserver on 3 different computers. The music files are only on one computer however. Are you saying that I only need to install the plugin on the computer with the music files?? I told you I was a newbie!!

Why would you want 3 versions of slimserver running with only one music collection ?

If you share the music collection across 3 pc's they must be on the same network so install slimserver on one and use softsqueeze or other mp3 player on the others to access the music.

I do share the music across a network. I don't really want to listen to the music on my computers though. I want to be able to control the squeezebox from any one of these 3 computers. I thought softsqueeze was simply a player similar to something like winamp? Right now I can control the squeezebox with my laptop wirelessly using slimserver(which I installed on the laptop) with the http:insert your ip: 9000/ command? So, if I have you correct, if I don't actually want to listen to music on my computers I could get rid of slimserver on my laptop and when I punch in Http:insertyourip :9000/ I will get the slimserver interface. So , my copy of slimserver on the laptop is redundant? Thanks so much for your patience!!!!
