Hi All,
So I have a slim server and squeezebox all setup in the house for about a year, and I am hooked! Just finishing up some back yard upgrades, and I want to install a squeezebox outside under the gazebo. Anyone have any info for any outdoor squeezebox options or if anyone has ever modded a squeezebox for outdoor use?
Regards, C

A google search of "squeezebox" and "hot tub" turned up this:
========================================

"My wood-working mom (sandy) made me a cool container last week for a Squeezebox that mounts underneith the roof of the gazebo above the hot tub (the gazebo which she and my dad designed and built). The back side has metal rails which let me bring it inside during the winter. (though I've left it out there for a week now and it still seems to work... it's fairly airtight)"

I use my squeezebox outside by my Koi pond most weekends. I have some Bose outdoor speakers permanently fixed out there and an old amp is basically sheltered from the elements by a plastic box. I do not have a squeezebox permanently out there but just carry it out there when I want to listen to music. The other thing I had to do was add a device to extend my wifi network. Works great.

Thats cool. I am looking for something permanent, I guess like coldslabs but I wondered if somebody had made some sort of weather resistant enclosure. Maybe I should try and figure one out.....

Something like this: http://www.otterbox.com/products/ott...3250/index.htm (in clear plastic) plus a drill and some silicone goop should do the job

I think its amazing that someone has not actually built a custom enclosure for this device.
I was thinking of taking a Squeezebox apart and building my own enclosure all together. One thing that I was thinking was that the display would be better for outdoors if it were bigger and brighter. Has anyone ever found a larger compatiable display to replace the stock one?
