There are several reasons for the Transporter. One of which is that I own a system that most would consider a bit above average. I want a piece of equipment that is flexible and yet sounds well/true. I have a duet that has never satisfied me. The right speaker seems to sound a bit richer. It will be used for my outdoor sound system. It is much more conveneint to entertain during the holidays and parties with Pandora (set it and forget it). As not everyone shares my particular musical taste (especially very large crowd), it renders my HTPC/music not practical. I have an HTPC my son built that is hooked up to the TV and to my stereo system. I have an extensive collection of CD's that I do not use nearly as much as I'd like to simply because it is easier to turn on Pandora. Ripping the CD's (which will be FLAC enocded) into my HTPC would allow me to easily access the music (which now I have to dig for). The transporter would make changing from CD to CD or Artist to Artist etc much easier. For convenience reasons, it will be running Pandora quite a bit of the time (as I do now) but when I want to sit/relax 'one on one' with my stereo I will be using the HTPC and Transporter. I previously had issues with my original Transporter I purchased but Logitech made good on it. I have been reluctant to purchase any of the alternatives because what I have stated above. An update, since with a great amount of help from one of the users, I am using the playlist 90% of the time. I am finding it very satisfying. I can't thank enough this person.
