Using Nokia phone as MP3 client to SlimServer

I thought I'd have a go at getting my mobile phone (Nokia N80 - Symbian-based) to act as a streaming client hanging off my SlimServer - over WiFi - it worked.

I presume that it would also work over GPRS/EDGE/3G etc (but watch out for data charges)

I found

which provides a SHOUTcast client for the phone.

I installed to memory card (read in some places that installing to the phone memory meant that you could not edit the playlist file) - and then modified the playlist file to point to http://myslimserver:9000/stream.mp3

I'd love to see someone develop a proper S60v3 mobile client (or at least a mobile version of java softsqueeze). That would give us a better control UI and most importantly, it would allow me to SSH tunnel in to my server from anywhere on the internet. I'm not real keen on exposing anything but SSH to the outside world.
