    Christmas References

Since it's coming up on us quickly again, how many songs in your collection do you know that reference 'Christmas"? I have 3 that I can recall directly:
    1. Joys of Christmas - Chris Rea - don't laugh, this is about as raunchy and raw as Rea gets.....good stuff
    2. Driving home for Christmas - other end of Rea's scale and just a 'nice song'
    3. Christmas song - Jethro Tull - classic anti-Christmas stuff from Tull, off 'Living in the Past' from memory, although Ian and the boys do much better stuff than this...
I've got a fever above my waist
You got a squeeze box on your knee
I know the truth is in between the 1st and 40th drink - Tori Amos
Squeezebox Classic -> NAD T743 -> Krix Phoenix
    Oh, and a BOOM...

For me, it isn't Christmas unless I hear Rea's "Driving home for Cristmas" and the Pogues' "A Fairytale of New York" ...

A personal favourite of mine and my wife's is "Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens.

For those who aren't aware, Pandora will play seasonal songs once seeded correctly (which I personally think is awesome ... how cool is that?!) 8)

Hearing 'Last Christmas' by Wham! on the radio makes it officially Christmas season for me. I'm sure I'll hear it soon.

It ain't Christmas until I hear Ray Charles sing "What Child Is This?". I also need to hear Aaron Neville's "Louisiana Christmas Day." Nothing like some Christmas zydeco.

    One more

Rain on Christmas, by David Sanborn, off 'As we Speak'. If you like saxophone (alto sax) style with some great rhythmic grooves, then this album is it..

I guess when Bob Geldof wrote "There won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time" he'd never been to Mount Kilimanjaro...
