What are you playing for Halloween?

Each Halloween we host the year's biggest block party. Generally there are 30-50 adults (no kids) in costume that show up between 7-8pm and stay until whenever. Usually the party's gone by 3am, but inevitable a few folks make it through to the next day. We have two party "areas": inside and outside, each with it's own dedicated SB and playlist.

Inside is the "main event" and this year our theme is "Vampires and Goths". The selected music reflects the theme, but changes throughout the evening into a full dance party. That playlist is played in order and is:

Two of my favorites (for frightening the wife and neighbors) are from Black Sabbath's "Born Again" album -- "Stonehenge" and "Disturbing The Priest".

Wow. Nice work on the playlists. I think I'll hang outside. How does Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You" compare to CCR's?

Thanks. SJH's version is a lot more "fun" in my opinion. I like a lot of his work.

    Red Temple Spirits?

Most stuff by this band could find a place in the main room. If you wanted some genuinely scarey stuff you could try some of Goblin's soundtracks for dario Argento films - particularly Suspiria. Also Dunwich's Sul Monte E Il Tuono album is creepy but maybe a more of the chill out room (would that be the morgue at this event?).

If you really want to scare the bejeesus out of folks you can't beat Diamanda Galas' Plague Mass albums . . . not really dancing music but it could be good for clearing the room when it's time to finish.

Probably a subtle hint to tell the guests to go home

How about 'Creepy Green Light' by Type O Negative. It's got a Halloween Goth feel to it.

    Sunn O))) - 2005 - Black One [Special Edition] (Disc 1)

Replayed all evening. I would call the Genre - "Ambient from Hell"
My cats and dogs were even terrified.
