I'm going to post on PlusNet forums too I think. More people who mention it the more they might take notice.
It could be to do with their traffic shaping as they've had problems recently with legitimate traffic. I'm getting strange behaviour with regular downloads just from sites like Microsoft, where they suddenly slow down mid-download, but if I cancel and start again it goes to full speed again.

Pull the plug
Try to disconnect the power plug of the SBX and shove it in again.
(re-starting)
That worked for me.

Have read the related thread on the PN forums (http://portal.plus.net/central/forum...=374852#374852 - requires a PlusNet account login) and have also posted to let them know there are more PN customers who are experiencing problems.
Good news is, it looks like we *may* be getting a resolution ... fingers crossed! 8)

But it's not only PN users who have problems
Well, that may be good news for plusnet users but I'm in Sweden with a 8mbit flawless service at home and another provider at work and I have had major problems the last week. I really think the problem is at the SN end. I contacted support on friday but haven't got any reply yet.

Well it looks like maybe PlusNet's tweaks have fixed it, at least for myself. All the problems I was having have gone away.

Ditto
It is obvious, given the similar nature of the problems being experienced over a wide geographical area, hence many time zones and ISP's, and the fact that the problems started at the same time, that the problem is with the SN servers. These are the only things common to all. I think the SN boffins need to start there. For my part, I'm in Canada and can only add "ditto" to the problems being described in this thread.

Well, it's still early days but since the PN tweak yesterday my SN service has been pretty snappy. Tried it for a short time last night and this morning and it worked nicely ... basically, as you would expect.
Only time will tell whether this has truly helped the issue for PN customers at least.

support replied
Just thought I should mention that I'm in contact with slimdevices support now and they also think that there are some unknown problems at their end and they are working on it.
They suggest trying softsqueeze when the box fails and doing a traceroute before and during the problems to give us some clues as to the problems. I suggest a few of us do that and post here to.

Last few days...
SqNet has definitely been the pits!
I'm on a reliable ISP (sonic.net) not far from Slim Devices peer, and can always ping service.us.squeezenetwork.com during these outages, like right now. Incidentally that address shows as the same IP as their web server, so I assume it is a firewall that is rediecting to other boxen on their internal network.
