I'm getting a problem where navigating menus on SqueezeNetwork is painfully slow. It seems to connect, but it's just unusable.
I know there are suggestions it's not ISP related, but I am on PlusNet, though I'm in "off-peak" time at the moment (12:55. Peak doesn't start until 16:00). I'm normally not hassled by PlusNet's throttling anyway but is it more than just a coincidence there's much mention of PlusNet here? Hmm.
Anyway, SqueezeNetwork was fine before the latest update, though I had changed my router recently also (DrayTek Vigor 2700V). I'm pretty sure it's not that though. The router isn't blocking the outbound or inbound traffic as far as I can tell and it shouldn't need any port mapping to work. The router does do statefull packet inspection. I might try turning that off to see what happens.
Connecting to my SlimServer by the way is fine. Internet radio is fine via the server too. It's just SqueezeNetwork that's the problem.

Downgraded system works
I don't know which SW version you are using, but I couldn't get my system working with the 6.5.x SoftWare, so I downgraded back to 6.3.1, and now everything works perfectly, undependent of the time.

How do I find version 6.3.1?
I am having a difficult time finding the previous versions for downloading. Can someone point me to the proper area?
Thanks,
Mark

Just how hard are you looking
It's under community / resources / downloads , all the versions going back to 3.1!

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads...ver_v6.3.1.exe

As mentioned already I'm with PlusNet but I have been experiencing performance problems with SN at many different times of the day ... sometimes during PN's peak times and sometimes not.
With SN being so unreliable, it's putting me off using it. The main thing I listen to through SN is Pandora. The connection to SS through my wireless network however, works flawlessly.

I'm also having a very bad connection problems with the squeezenetwork through my squeezebox.
The player appears to connect but then stops responding to the remote control and the screen goes black.
The only way to regain control of my squeezebox is to reboot it.
I have tried 6.50 and 6.3.1 with the same problem.
I hope its not related but I've had network fun with them before.. my ISP is also Plusnet.
Lets hope this isn't like the easynews fiasco.
Is there anyway I get one of my machines to pretend to be a squeezebox and analyse the network traffic to see whats happening?

You can connect to SqueezeNetwork with Softsqueeze, just point it at
service.us.squeezenetwork.com.

Been there, done that...
I've tried connecting to SN with SoftSqueeze - exactly the same behavior as with my SB3. I really think it's PlusNet, you know. A couple of weeks ago they seemed to change the traffic shaping rules which screwed (for me) all sorts of (what they consider to be low priority) traffic - ntp, rdp, etc etc. Posted to their forums, but got a "I have a SqueezeBox and it's fine" from a staff member.
