Hi everyone,
I need a little help with the setup of my slimserver/squeezebox.
Firstly some basic info. I have just installed slimserver on a standalone PC to be used purely for audio playback its a 2.4Ghz pentium 4 running XP home. My music is on an external Harddrive. I've also re-installed my 'ripping' software on the new PC too. - EAC / LAME / FLAC.
My problem is this, all the music that I ripped on old PC still works fine. So Does AlienBBC. I've started to rip some new stuff which seems to work ok until I ask slimserver to play it. I get a message on the squeeze box saying 'can't open file'. To the untrained eye all my setup options in EAC are the same (I copied them meticulously) and I can see the files/music in the browser window. It's just when I come to play them that they just won't play.. Any ideas gratefully recieved. Thanks, Richard.

another thing...
I forgot to mention that I think I'm seeing an error in EAC that I've not seen before. On the error report for the last track on the CD it says 'too many samples'. Could this be the problem?

One possibility is that the EAC options that you have meticulously copied over aren't actually right for the new CD-ROM. By all means keep all the same options for encoding, names, etc ,etc but you might want to go back to the beginning in respect of the configuration for the drive (eg C2, offset, ....)
