UNC addressing should work (i.e. \\SERVER\mnt\). It can be case-sensitive however, so check you have entered it exactly as the volume is mounted.

Maybe try using IP address (i.e. \\192.168.0.5\mnt) ?

Your network share doesn't require a password does it ?

    no password on network share.

    * TEST1 :
Oops - "\\192.168.1.2\HDD_a\" doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again.

What operating system are you using ? Windows or Linux ?

If Linux, does the box with Slimserver installed on have full read access to the directory that the music is stored under ?

See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...t=write+access for someone with a similar issue.

Are you sure? Didn't you just use the same user/password when defining the
    share as you're using locally?

    > * TEST1 :

This is run as user "SYSTEM" (by default), while this:

    > with cmd, no problems :

....is run as your user. Please verify that there's at least a read-only
guest account (no user or password required) on your NAS, _or_ configure
slimserver to be run as user "youraccountnamehere".

    Smile [ok]

Ok… I have just found the problem.
Indeed it is a problem of right of acces!

    System : Windows XP sp2
    Network Storage Enclosure : D-Link DSM-G600
    Router : LinkSYS WRT54GL

SlimBox attacks the router (No problems)

On the NSE the root had a right of acces total with my using and a password (automatic with the starting of the system)

Thus by removing all that, SlimServer functions.

It remains me to find a solution to give from the specific rights for others users, because the NSE prohibits it to me if a file is divided in a manner total for all the users (in my case the REP of the MP3).

    THANK YOU
