Hi! I just installed Slimserver on my Linux box (Fedora Core 4) and have been toying with it for a while. It seems to work - I get sound - but I can only get mp3's to play. Most of my collection is in FLAC, with ogg duplicates for portable playing, and I can't get those files to play. They go in the playlist just fine, but when the player gets to them it just skips over them. Does anyone have a hint as to what might be wrong? Am I missing some required library? Is my configuration wrong?
Thanks,
Mats

Have you checked file types in the server config?

What are you using for playback? If you are using a software player
(such as xmms) and connecting to the stream.mp3 url, then all formats
are being converted to mp3 for that stream. You'll need to have LAME
installed in order for the server to be able to complete this process.
If this isn't the case, please provide more details (Slimserver
version would also be important)

Ah, thanks. I hadn't grasped that. I didn't have lame installed. I also downloaded SoftSqueeze and that works great.
