I've tried the install available from SlimServer 6.5, but that appears to only install the non-headless version and creates only a desktop link to it.
Also, maybe it's the beta nature of the thing, but it occasionally hangs and cannot be killed short of rebooting my computer. Right now I have an instance where I have a taskbar icon, a grayed out Squeezebox and Remote showing on screen, but nothing showing in the Windows Task Manager. (Edit: Scratch that - looks like the process name is 'javaw.exe' and killing it kills the dead Softsqueeze.)
The SourceForge installation of previous versions gave both headless and non-headless versions, installed program group shortcuts, plus an uninstaller. Can the package with the Windows installer be made available through the SlimServer web interface so we can avoid using the sketchy Java installer?

Be sure you remove all softsqueeze related settings (.java folder). I've
seen this problem, too. It's not the headless version, but it doesn't show
up.

I now see that it did create a program group name "SlimServer". Still, the lack of a headless mode makes it much less useful to me.

Is it supposed to be displayed as a "transporter" in the web interface? Given that SoftSqueeze is a part of the SlimServer distribution, couldn't it be labeled correctly in theweb ui?
