    Question Version 6.3 Stops!!

    Hi
    I have upgraded from 6.2 to 6.3. I have a squeebox 1 and also a version 2. Running XPSP2.
When I play Alienbbc or any internet radio, slimserver just stops running. The squeezeboxes lost connection and the software says it has stopped.
I have returned to 6.2 for the moment and it works fine.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I have a similar issue on OSX 10.4, in that Slimserver will just stop running for some reason - when I'm not even using it! I'll have played some music fine, and come back the next day and cannot connect.

The machine has not rebooted in the meantime.

On XP, it's often handy to know what error is logged by the windows Event Viewer. This is in the Control Panel, under Administrative Tools. Slimserver errors will be in the Applications section.

    Using SlimServer 6.3?

Presumably the computer has gone to sleep even though it has not rebooted.

How do you get connection back?

I find that often, when waking from sleep, the SB has disconnected. I don't know if this is actually a problem with the SB or with my Airport Extrem base stations (two, to get good cover a fair distance away).

Pressing the On button gives the "waking up SlimServer, connecting to SlimServer" message but then fails to connect.

Pressing AND HOLDING the On button produces, as it should, the setup screen. One does not have to go through all the setup procedure, as pressing the Up button gives the option Connect to 192.168.1.12 (in my case) which then does connect fine.

    Thanks for replies.

I tried un-installing 6.2 again. (I did that first time also.)
but this time I removed all slimserver folders on the computer and then installed 6.3.

    It works fine now.
