Does anyone who has had their SB2 apart know the size of the circuit board? I am thinking about modding the case to fit a DIN slot in my car but I won't bother if the board won't fit.
Thanks
Jason

Size of SB2 board
-
2006-06-24, 10:47 #2I don't have the dimensions handy but off the top of my head, the main board and the display board are wider than a DIN slot by about 3cm. Unless widening the opening is a possibility, you will need to cut (dremel maybe) the display board so that it is no wider than the glass - this won't hurt the board since there is nothing on it there except the IR receiver (which will need to be mounted somewhere else). the main board would need to be turned 90 degrees and the display cable extended. The 320x32 display glass by itself is smaller than a DIN slot, but only by a couple mm.

I've been thinking about how you mentioned extending the display cable and I was wondering if it was possible to extent the cable so I can mount the main boarded in the glovebox (or something like that. How long can the display cable be? Do I cut the orginal cable and splice in wires or is there a longer cable that I can buy and plug in?
