    Line Filter/Isolator vs. Upgraded PS

    hi all.

i am currently debating between getting a line filter/isolator for the stock SB3 PS or simply upgrading the stock PS with a linear one and foregoing the isolator - any opinions on which might be a better option?

    cheers

    Perhaps a little of both?

If you can solder, get a 5V-3A linear. The Condor Medical Grade is only $10 more than the standard Condor or PowerOne:

And add a power entry inlet/filter/fuse module:

From Schaffer Catalog which is filter is the right one to use. Can you tell me which inline filter is the best. I am still learning to read the schematic of the filter.

    Thanks

I'm afraid I can't help you there. I suppose it depends on the wiring in your house. Which schematic are you seeing?

I don't even know if it would work. Surely there are some drawbacks or limitations. You would probably be better off with one of the audiophile units like Shunyata or Running Springs.

I shouldn't have mentioned the inlet filter, but curiosity killed the cat: http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/filter.html .
