Then you've already succeeded in the hardest part: installing Ewe.
SlimRemote is running but seems to be unable to contact your slimserver.
Please check the following:
- the CLI plugin must be enabled (web interface: server settings)
- you need to open port 9090 on your server's firewall. Please follow the
following instructions and add 9090 to the list:

You did. IMHO it's a networking issue.

Thx for reply Michael.
....OK: dont have CLI plugin listed (no clm.pm file in PLUGINS directory).
Had a look through the PLUGINS listed on the SLIM DEVICES site but can't find (or i've overlooked!!) a download for the CLI plugin. Where can I find this?
Thx, Neale.

So you are using slimserver 6.2.x? Check Server Settings/Networking:
there's the port defined for the CLI. By default it's 9090.
Did you verify the firewall settings? (see link in first post)
If all is fine so far, let's manually test the CLI: Open a DOS window on
the server machine and run "telnet localhost 9090". If you're getting a
black window, you're pretty fine. Type "version ?" and hit enter (you
might not see the input, but it's echoed later). Does this work?

It's built in on SlimServer 6.2.x, not a plugin. Only in 6.5 it was
separated into a plugin. I'm sorry if I was confusing.

Yipee....got it going!
Many thanks!....
Yep: it was partly the port and also a networking prob.
Was primarily trying to use on a PDA and it seems that with my combination or router & PDA the two would connect when first opened but would then hang. Seems DHCP does not work with my combination of Ipaq with Sandisk Wifi + Belkin wireless router. When I specified a fixed IP (& DNS server for internet) everything works. Then fixed port & bingo...!!
Great application....now just left trying to gather artwork...
so add Ipaq 2210 pda as compatable to the list...!!
Really SB3 is such a great device - and a large part is down to the cracking applications that so many have written including this one! No i'm gonna eBay my expensive Audiolab CD transport...!
Thanks, Neale
using:
SB3 (-Belkin wireless router / Ipaq 2210+Sandisk WiFI for SlimRemote)
Perpetual Technologies P1/P3 DAC & upsampler
Naim amplification
Magneplanar speakers

Did you use the server's name or the IP address in SlimRemote's settings?
There seems to be a problem with name resolution. A problem I haven't
found a solution (nor the reason!) so far. Just be sure you're using the
IP address.
