Why does my v3 player think it's v2?

I just bought a v3 Squeezebox about two weeks ago. It plays my collection nicely and everything is working pretty well. I'm wondering why my device seems to think it is a Squeezebox2? I see the following:

Settings > Information > Player Information > Player Model: squeezebox2

I have firmware version 28, if that means anything to anyone here... I don't seem to be having any real problems associated with this, but it struck me as odd. Anyone else see this or is this a known issue? Am I missing out on some key features because my player is confused about its identity???
