In trying to copy some music files recently, I ended up with some corrupted files that are unreadable and undeletable, according to Windows. I need to get rid of these files to copy albums to another hard drive, but I can't do it by normal WindowsXP methods. It says the files are corrupted or unreadable and won't let me delete them. Is there any other way to delete the files, so that I can get my music to another hard drive?
How do I get rid of a corrupted file in Windows?

No, what command would I use?
EDIT: I tried to delete as you suggested, and it said it could not and to run CHKDSK, which I did with this result:

Firstly, I suggest that you copy all the good directories and files to their new location.
Then, if you right-click on the directory containing the bad file, have you got Open followed by CMD shell on the dropdown menu?
1. If so, right-click and left-click on the "CMD shell" option and you should be in the correct directory.
2. If not, Accessories, CMD prompt will take you to the CMD shell. The you need to CD (Change Directory) until you find the directory containing the corrupt file.
When you are in the correct directory, do a dir to examine the contents of the directory and MAKE sure you see the file you want
to delete is there.
If the contents are too much for a page do "dir | more" to see a page at a time, hitting the space bar for the next page.
Then, very carefully type "del filename" where filename is the name of the file you want to remove.
Hope this helps, but be careful.

There are lots of utilities for deleting "undeletable" files here:
Boom (PQP3 - late beta, PQP1 - early beta), Squeezebox Radio (PB1 - early beta)Comment
