    Slimp3 Player on Mac OS X Jaguar, 300MHz G3

    I'm a new Slimp3 owner and I like it!

I'm running the player just fine on Mac OS X Panther on a G4 Powerbook.
The Powerbook is connected via airport.. It's pretty neat to control the
music from the Powerbook from anywhere, no wires.

I want to run the player on a 300MHz G3 Powerbook with 192mb memory. This
is Mac OS X version 10.2.8 (Jaguar). On this machine, the player fails
with numerous glitches and stalls. (For example, use remote to browse..
play.. browse to another song.. play.. Everything stops, no response to
    remote.) Any advice?

In my own checking, I find different Perl versions:
    - 5.6.0 on the G3/Jaguar that fails.
    - 5.8.1 on the G4/Panther that works.

I find a page with instructions for installing Perl 5.8.0 in Jaguar

    http://developer.apple.com/internet/macosx/perl.html

...which I think I can follow. Will this do the trick? Do I want perl
    5.8.1?

    Slimp3 Player on Mac OS X Jaguar, 300MHz G3

    Hi Sally,

You shouldn't have to install a new version of Perl. It may be that
you don't have enough memory on the slower computer. How big is your
    music library?
