I hate to be yet another to post with this trouble but I haven't seen anyone having this issue on Mac OS X yet.
I have set up AlienBBC and can play real streams from the command line with mplayer but whenever I try it through slimserver I get no sound.
My log is copied below.
The other issue is that mplayer creates a terminal instance that does not go away when the stream is closed by slimserver - anyone know how to get it to close?
Thanks for any help.

Oh, one more thing. I have absolutely no firewall running on this machine, not even the built-in Mac OS X one. The only thing that might be providing firewall service in my network is my linksys WT54g wireless router.

That debug looks OK, but it doesn't show actually playing the stream - what comes next?
If possible, could you stop the server and restart in a command line window so that you also capture the mplayer debug.

Well - after the same content as the log I posted earlier I get the attached log which sort of looks like it should be playing. The last lines will repeat over and over until I shut it down.

Same here, no sound w/ alienBBC
I'm having this same problem. I have the latest nightly of SS 6.2.2 running on OS X 10.4.5 with AlienBBC 1.0.1. I can get mplayer to work in terminal and stream audio from bbc (which is great!), but I cannot get anything through SS. I can however stream any other internet radio stream (i.e. shoutcast, I suspect that what I can stream are mp3). I am a novice with the computer, so any pointers would be appreciated. I have tried to muddle throught the post, but I can't figure it out.

Can ypu post a log with the d_source flag.
Use Server setting / Debugging to turn on the flag. The log should contain messages from when a BBC station was selected to after mplayer is started. I am not familiar with OSX but I think the log is best obtained by running slimserver in a Terminal session.

Mine is posted above - appears to be playing but is not. Very odd.

Kanoot,
your log shows that Mplayer starts up and then is waiting for data - nothing is getting through the Mplayer.
I've had PMs with a user who a similar problem using the easily available OSX precompiled Mplayer which is quite old (mid 2005). He replaced the mplayer with a version built by berryk with CVS 051227 (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpo...&postcount=125 ) and the problem went away. The berryk link seems to be broken but I was emailed a copy of the mplayer - I have made it available below. It is supposed to be a uncompressed mplayer executable for OSX - I don't have a OSX so I can't vouch for it.
http://homepage.eircom.net/~altondsl...mplayerOSX.bin
Download it, save your current version, rename it to mplayer to install this version and try standalone Terminal test version first.
If it is not executable or corrupted - I'll ask for another copy.
