I have a fresh install of Slackware 10.2 and when I start SoftSqueeze from the link on the server web page, I claims that I don't have java installed. I do have the JRE at:
/usr/lib/jre1.5.0_04
How can I make SoftSqueeze find it?
Thanks.

SoftSqueeze can't find JRE

I think you'd need to install the plugin if you want to run it from the
browser. Try to change to the SS folder in a shell and call "java -jar
SoftSqueeze.jar".

Re: can't fine JRE
Hope this thread hasn't gotten too old to reply.
I should have been more clear in my original post. When I click on the SoftSqueeze link in SlimServer's web page, I get a page with two check boxes. Neither are checked. The first check box says:
Click here to install the Java environment that is required by SoftSqueeze.
But it should be checked because I have a good installation of the jre at /usr/lib/jre1.5.0_04 and java is in my execution path. I don't want to install a second copy of it.
Btw, SoftSqueeze runs okay from the applet.
Thanks for the reply, sorry it took so long to reply :-)
