I can't believe they did that!
Even worse, I can't even get the "official" player to work in Firefox anymore using Linux. It never gets past the "enter the stupid code" screen...

After doing some "investigating" I may have a work-around for the "type what you see" thingie they added... I don't want to say too much, as I don't want them to change what they're doing... When I have some time I'll test my theory, it's not pretty, but it may work.

New Version: 0.5.5
I'm happy to report, as I type this message I'm listening to Howard Stern on my SB3!
The plugin has been updated to work with Sirius's new login mechanism. Sirius is now using multiple cookies, which are only supported in more recent SlimServer 6.3 and 6.5b1 nightlies. So you'll have to update if you haven't already.
If you havne't noticed, when playing Sirius streams over the web you are now required to "Type what you see in the image" when logging in. For now I figured out a way around this step, however, it wouldn't surprise me if this will stop working at some point.
With Howard now available online, I decided to rush this version out (instead of testing it for a few days). Please let me know if you experience any issues other than those already listed on the website.

doesn't quite work for me
Hi,
Great Job.. However, I'm having a few problems. (I'm running 6.3.0 8020 Linux -- Default skin)
First, I don't get any web interface. There's nothing under Internet Radio and the plugin isn't listed on the Plugins page.
I could access it through the SB2 interface, though, and managed to get connected. But I only get sound for about a half a second every once in a while (varies between a few minutes and about 10 seconds) This ONLY happens on Howard. Music channels work correctly.
I believe this is the error for the web interface problem:
2006-06-17 11:15:49.7406 Adding SiriusRadio::Plugin to menu: RADIO
2006-06-17 11:15:49.7409 Can't get web page handlers for plugin SiriusRadio::Plugin : Can't locate object method "addPageLinks" via package "Slim::Web::Pages" at Plugins/SiriusRadio/Plugin.pm line 1483.
What debugging option should I have turned on for the intermittent stream problem?
Thanks!

2006-06-17, 08:44 #117Oops. My fault. I forgot 6.5 required a couple minor changes for the web interface. I now have separate 6.3 and 6.5 versions posted. Please let me know if this doesnt fix the problem.

The description on Sirius's page for the Howard channels does say they're in beta. They've spent a lot of time preparing for streaming Howard, but they probobably have no idea how much capacity they'll need to handle the load. I did however, have Howard streaming for several hours uninterupted late last night.I could access it through the SB2 interface, though, and managed to get connected. Right now I'm away from my 6.3 installation so please report any other issues when running 6.3.

Closer
OK!, the web interface is back.
BUT, Channels 100 and 101 do not show up in the channel lineups. (neither web nor SB2). And when I tried to set 100 and 101 as presets, they play channel 90 (Universo Latino).

2006-06-17, 13:28 #119Hmmmmm... I did read some posts regarding the Yahoo Sirius player with some people seeing 100/101 and some not. The plugin pulls the available channels when it logs in to Sirius the first time-- maybe restart your server and see if they come back when it grabs them again. If they don't try logging in via the Sirius web site and see if the channels are offered there. Maybe they pulled them briefly due to server capacity issues. They're still working on my set up, but I'm afraid to restart it in fear of losing em!

Works, but only intermittently
Ok, I restarted slimserver and now 100 and 101 show up as expected.
But I'm still just getting a second of audio every minute or so... :-(
The official sirius player works fine.
Anyone else have any feedback??
