    Qnap TS-101 Update

Ok firstly my apologies for not posting any updates on here recently. We are still recovering from the Christmas period and there just doesn't seem enough hours in the day.

The current situation with the Qnap TS-101 is that the Qnap firmware is now finished and the product is ready to ship. The only problem we now have is that it is now the Chinese New Year so nothing is happening in China for the next two weeks.

This product was promised to be with us mid-October 2005 as a lot of you are aware. Qnap want to make sure that this product is the best it can be for the wider audience and this has caused the delay in us launching our version running Slim Server - regardless of if you want their features or not.

We are nearly there. It is looking like our shipment will now go out on the 15th February and we will ship a couple of days after they land with us.

    Thank you for your patience.

Appreciate the update at last, but how sure can we be Paul? It was less than 24 hours ago that Gareth (from Progressive/Cooltopia) told me that delivery had been confirmed for 26th January!

You can be sure of this!

Gareth sits next to me and I initially told him the date as that is what it was going to be. Due to the holidays thought they wouldn't be able to get the product over to us in time.

The delays up to this point have been due to them finishing their product - it is now 100% complete. Just a shame they had to complete it just before the holidays over there. Such is life.

Well if the initial reviews turn out ok, this may end up being an early birthday present to myself

Threatening to be a saga of immense proportions, but I see advancedmp3players.co.uk are now slating Friday 10 March as a potential delivery date. Yawn.

After all the broken promises from Progressive and co, has anyone finally got their hands on one of these babies yet?

    Cheers

Ok it is all my fault now. I didn't realise that HDD's would take so long to format!

Basically we are going to start shipping tomorrow. I am going to our warehouse in the morning to finish off the last remaining units of stock that need setting up to complete existing orders.

I will post links to pictures of actual stock being shipped tomorrow just to prove that they are actually going out to you guys.

Orders for 300Gb & 400Gb TS-101's will ship first followed by 500Gb, 160Gb & 200Gb orders. I hope to get them all out tomorrow though we won't have all of the tracking numbers till around 8:00pm GMT.

I will be posting pictures of the light at the end of the tunnel as soon as our carriers have left the building with the stock

    Regards

Paul (I never want to format another HDD in my life again)
