This is the system I use in the workshop when I'm working on projects.

Here's my Duet, wrapped in plastic to keep the sawdust out. On the workbench (out of frame) sits the controller which is also wrapped in plastic. That's great unless I need to use the scroll wheel thingy.

The receiver is a rejected RCA 7.1 home theater receiver.
On top of that is a 400 CD disc Sony Mega Changer. That doesn't get much use since the Duet came.

The speakers are.....ummm.......Not sure, but I'd sell them for $1.
They're pretty bad. Going to have some open baffle in here soon. That will be nice.

Under the system is a 5 horsepower, 60 gallon, 140psi Campbell Hausfeld air compressor. This raises the noise floor quite substantially. Not much critical listening when this fires up.

Hello from a long time squeezebox fan. As i already said here half a year ago, this little sexy device has completely changed my life. My best buy ever!

Now little cuttie has been heavily modified (superb Paul Hynes regulator for digital part, bypassed output choke and now pulse transformer between, BNC instead of RCA,...). Also DacMagic has been heavily modified. Both units has been optimized with osciloscope and digital reflectometer to work best with each other (thanks to a friend who is electronic expert and also audiophile). Result is impressive sonic performance which fully stands side by side with expensive hi-end digital sound sources.

    Best regards!

Currently I have a Naim Audio DAC on loan for 3 weeks.
It's surprising how good the SB analog out sounds, compared to the Naim dac. The Naim dac ads some more body to voices and a little more depth.

Here's a systempic with the Naim dac in place. (the little black/white boxes store my 670 CD's)

    Hi Alco,

nice setup!!! I know those pics from another forum - I thought the nDAC had been returned - or maybe my recollection is of?

It will be returned. That is, it will be picked up by my Naim dealer soon.

The sonic improvements are welcome but not worth € 2650,- to me.
I found I can live pretty easily without the expensive Naim dac.

    My Transporter and setup

TRANSPORTER, Amps 1 Acoustic Reality Ear Enigma ICE-Power 2x250W driving panels, 1 Acoustic Reality Ear Two ICE-Power 2x500W driving bas in biamping mode. Preamp/roomcorrection/upsampling Tact RCS 2.2X. Speakers Martin Logan Vista.

Transporter and Tact are connected through digital loop. Amps connected to Transporter because the DAC sounds better. Tact is used as Preamp/roomcorrection and upsampling to 24/96

    Hello,
are you saying that the transporter dac is better than the one in the RCS? could you be more precise, please?

    My system

Nothing special, Yamaha RX-V567 (bottom center), Cerwin Vega fronts, center, surround, and sub. SB3 on the upper shelf along with a Cisco IPTV box running Mediaroom, an unused Panasonic DVD. An Asus O!play HDP-R1 serves up the video. After getting hooked on the Squeezebox I couldn't resist and found a way to do the same for my video. It may have a limited life though as the new TV has DLNA built in.
For those who are wondering how I made the center channel levitate there is a Center Stage Bracket (www.centerstagebracket.com) under it.
