Firmware 23 in tonight's nightly build:

    Hi All,

Tonight's nightly 6.2 build will include firmware version 23 for
    Squeezebox2. This will include:

Auto Update - Allows a player to automatically accept an upgrade
from the server. Adjust this setting under View Current Settings, it
will only really be useful for going from 23 to a higher number.

Support for 48 bit IR blasting - Makes IR blasting work with
Technics and other systems. Thanks, Felix!

Settings corruption - fixes a problem where some settings may get
corrupted when upgrading from version 16 to 17 through 22. This
might have been visible as the server name being messed up on the
    setup screen.

WPA2 Support - Experimental support for WPA2 access points. If
you have a WPA2 capable router, please give it a try and post your
    experiences and/or file a bug on http://bugs.slimdevices.com

Graphics updated - Splash screen and VU meter graphics are made
    larger and clearer

WMA fixes - fixes some edge cases with low bitrate audio, should
    be rare in the wild

DHCP - DHCP request packets now set the secs field.

That's it, let us know how it works for you.

    Thanks,

    dean

The logo may be clearer, but it no longer says Squeezebox 2 - I just get SqueezeBox. I used to like the old logo with the 2 in the background.

More importantly though, I can no longer connect to my SlimServer. It's running, and I can get to it with the web ui, but my Squeezebox2 just sits there saying Connecting to SlimServer....

No wait, it does connect, but it only stopped saying Connecting when I pressed power. I can reproduce this as well - if I hold power to restart the SB2, it displays the logo and then sits there saying Connecting. This goes on indefinitely, but if I press play or power, it goes straight to the standard menu (Now Playing etc).

Some people think the title of this song is irrelevant,
    but it's not irrelevant - it's a hippopotamus.

I'm not actually sure that I prefer the new Analog VU screensaver. It's hard to tell without switching back to the old one to compare, but I'm fairly certain it's actually a bit fuzzier now. The numbers and lettering are far from sharp, and it looks positively distorted at full brightness - especially the arcs.

FWIW I've found exactly the same issue with FW22.

Re: Firmware 23 in tonight's nightly build:

Ok, thanks. Can you go through network setup again with firmware 23
and see if that fixes it?

    Thanks,

    dean

No, it does exactly the same after going through all the network setup again.

Firmware 23 in tonight's nightly build:

    Hi all

My SB2 is happily playing with firmware 23. I tried wired and wireless (WEP and WPA) and both work.

But I also have to say that I liked the 'old' Squeezebox 2 splashscreen better. Was there a particular reason to switch?
