what bathroom setups are people happy with

I'm looking into installing an sb2 in my bathroom, and have searched the net and these forums but haven't been able to come up with the setup of choice yet.

Due to the high humidity I'm planning to build a plexiglass case for the sb2.

As for the speakers I'd really prefere to find a small set of powered outdoor speakers but so far I've only been able to find un-powerd speakers like : http://www.nilesaudio.com/products/os_speakersnew.html that do seem very nice except for the lack of powering...

I've also been looking at the t-amp : http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/audio/6cd8/ it's cheap and small and woul easily fit in a plexiglass case. But it would probably be a hassle to turn it's power on and off, and I would really prefere to not use an amp.

So are there any setups like this out there that people are happy with?

I'm considering the same thing myself, My plan is to mount the SB in the airing cupboard with an bezelled opening for the display and IR detector. I was going to get an amp from Richers and some moisture proof ceiling speakers, maybe even car speakers because they don't always use paper cones.

Look at marine stuff they have lots of moisture resistant stuff, West
Marine has stores everywhere. None of it is "water proof" but lots is
    moisture resistant.

This seems like way too much time in the bathroom! :-)

Wow, no kidding. I think if I wanted music in the can that I'd just run ceiling speakers to a whole-house audio system or else to an audio system in an adjacent bedroom. The only otehr thing I'd want in the bathroom would be a volume control.

Hmm, not sure if we have another British - American English debate starting here. I frequently spend an hour or more in the bathroom, where else would you go for a nice long bath? Preferably with a good crossword. Plenty of time to listen to some music.

This thread has got me thinking about how and where to deploy a SB2 myself. Perhaps some ceiling-mounted speakers....

That's the problem, finding something moistureproof that goes below 150hz

How about high-wall mounted? If that's ok, check out the Yamaha NSAW350W. Here's a brief overview:

That's kinda what I've done. My SB2 is in the dining room and it's adjacent to the sauna and bathroom. So i've installed marine speakers in the sauna and connected them as B speakers to the integrated amp. It's not very flexible as the control is in the dining room but it's better than nothing. Besides, we don't spend too much time in the bathroom. At least not so much time that adjusting volume, managing the playlist and so on is an important issue.

Anyway, you can find some interesting in-wall solutions here: http://www.slimdevices.com/dev_plugins.html#mods
