Anything at all recent will have perl 5.8 on it.


Which means,

Debian users that are still on 'stable' will be using perl 5.6

And Redhat's 7->8->9->Fedora transition path of horrors stranded alot
of people back on 7.3 with perl 5.6


SuSE/Gentoo/Mandrake/Slackware have been alot kinder to their users
and more of them are likely on the latest version or two which have
5.8.1+
