It's time to add my 2ct about the forum vs. mail discussion:

I'm a user with a faily standard setup: using XP with Outlook. I want to
add
that I receive my Slimdevices-digest in a form where all individual
mails
are included as separate attachments to one e-mail. This is easily the
most
impractical of all 'mailing-list-digests' I receive, as it requires an
awful
lot of mouseclicking to read through the mails.

This is my reason to vote for the forum side of things

BTW - Most forums also have the capability of 'subscribing' to topics,
so
you can receive the mails into your inbox if you want to.
