Congratulations everyone! Those community service awards are particularly
cool, and very well deserved.

and now with this starting to make its way through the bbc today:

I think the first place winner is going to be seeing some serious use in the
next few weeks

Re: Slim Devices Plugin Contest Winners!
Not on my machine - this plugin crashes my server (the new 5.3) on Linux.

Re: Re: Slim Devices Plugin Contest Winners!
Can you give some details of the crash - I am running against latest
CVS and have no problems.
Did it used to work before you upgraded the server? If so, then try
using the web interface
to remove and then read the plugin: I remember I had to do this once.

Re: Slim Devices Plugin Contest Winners!
Hehe.
Hitchhikers coming back to the radio. Marvellous!
And there I am trying to work out why the BBC7 parser is falling over...
Should have read the following from the BBC7 pages:
Due to ongoing technical difficulties, we are unable to provide a
comprehensive Listen Again facility. We are working to fix this as soon as
possible, but please bear with us and accept our apologies for any
inconvenience caused.
Arse.

Re: Re: Slim Devices Plugin Contest Winners!
No, I never had it installed before - I only found out about that particular
plugin after it won.
But I have found that quite a few of the plugins out there crash my server -
some work perfectly but quite a few of them just kill the server and I have
to restart it.
I've no details really - I'll navigate to the plugin, push the right-arrow
to initiate it and my squeezeboxes will suddenly announce they've lost
connection to the server. This happend to me with the Email plugin, and one
or two others - I forget which now but it was consistent, I just deleted
them. Others such as SHOUTCAST, the RadioIO Internet Radio, and MaximumEedge
News, work perfectly.
I suspect that there are some assumptions being made in some of those
plugins that may not be true in all environments but I haven't looked at the
code (it's Perl :-)

Re: Re: Re: Slim Devices Plugin Contest Winners!
OK,
lets see if we can locate the problem: (I suspect it the version of
HTML::Parser in your perl distribution).
1) Which linux are you running?
2) How did you install your slim server (rpm or source?)
3) Which version of perl is running (perl -v will tell you)
4) Can you locate the server logfile, and get the final error message
when it goes boom?
