I just wanted to satisfy my curiosity and see how it
works and then I buy the Squeezebox. Is there are
specific cable required? Also, Can I play music on my
    stereo wirelessly using softsqueeze?

The Squeezebox comes boxed with the necessary cables.

SoftSqueeze is run on a computer. If the computer can run wirelessly, yes.
But you have to connect it to your stereo, of course, which needs a cable.
