HELP! LMS cannot find server media files (Raspberry PI/Max2Play)

I've tried everything I can think of. M2P says filesystem mount is successful. I can see the files via Windows 10 laptop, so I know they're there. Password is correctly entered in M2P. I've tried every combination of every setting I can come up with ... no joy. AFA I can tell, files are there to be had on the server, M2P has the file mounted correctly... but LMS just can't see them.

Any ideas? I'd be grateful! Thanks!

Have you told LMS where the files are? Look under Basic Settings-Media Folders.

Thanks to both slartibartfast and DJanGo for responding! Here's the basic info I should have put in the post in the firstplace...

    My mountpoint is: /mnt/share/Music

    The scan detail is:
    Media Scan Details
    Discovering files/directories: /mnt/share/Music (1 of 1) Complete 00:00:00

Scanning new media files: /mnt/share/Music (0 of 0) Complete 00:00:01

Building full text index (7 of 7) Complete 00:00:00

    Database Optimize (2 of 2) Complete 00:00:05

I don't see anything obvious in there other than that the database isn't initialized, but I have no idea where to initialize the database, or even if that's talking about the server music database. I'm really sorry for these rookie questions - but I'd sure appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks again!

Check the permissions for the mount point...

    Thank you Grumpy Bob!

By permissions, do you mean the fileserver disk password? Or is there another permission someplace that I'm not aware of? I've verified the password... that doesn't seem to be the issue.

PiCorePlayer is Linux (and Max2Play as well?) so the mount point folder will have owner and group together with access privileges set. You can change these using the chmod command (Google it!) - you may also find help in the Linux/Unix forum here.

Is the fileserver already ON when you run max2play?

    Hi,

Try this, not sure why it does this but it catches me out first time round every time I do a new build...

On the Basic settings page of LMS settings, at the end of your Media folder line with mnt/share/Music untick the Pictures and Video boxes, then try a re-scan.

If that doesn't work, then use FileZilla or WinSCP to connect to the RPI and browse through the mount point to confirm the PI has the path and credentials to the files on your server.

    Permissions.
Itĺs always permissions in a case like this.
But donĺt chown or chmod all the files in one hit. You could worsen the situation.
Select one folder with one album that you can easily recreate (or take a Backup first).
