LMS asks to update when server restarts

I am running LMS v 7.9.1 on an iMac MACOS v 10.13.1. I keep getting a message that an update is available, do I want to update. I respond not now, but I keep getting the message. It even opens control panels by itself. Any ideas?

    Install the update :-).

The message shouldn't pop up that often. Once a day? If you don't like
being nagged, turn off update checks (Settings/Advanced/Software
Updates), and delete the downloaded installer from the cache folder (see
    Settings/Information).

But really: just install the update.

It asks to update just about every day. I have installed the update, but it doesn’t actually do any updates. I can’t find the referenced software update. Under advanced in system preferences, there is no software update option. It will wake my iMac when it is sleeping, open sys pref, and display a dialog box about the update. Very frustrating.
