    EDO App

    Hi all,

Am I correct in saying that unless Iam using HI RES rips/downloads/music to A DAC, its pointless using the EDO app. For 16bit redbook standard CD rips... It wont make a difference WITH MY SBT..?

Squeezebox Touch can play 24/96000 files natively.

Stick EDO on it and it can play 24/192000 files natively into an external DAC via the coax SPDIF.
It can output 29/192000 via the USB into a HiFace2.
Some have had results hooking up a USB DAC.

Then there is the issue of whether there would be any audible benefit from 192 K vs. 96 K. My pet bat Eric and I seem to disagree on that one.

It's still possible to use a hiFace1 or one of the many other dacs which use the same M2Tech OEM usb connection

    Who mentioned sound quality?
Someone asked about EDO, nothing more.
If you bothered to read the OP properly, you'll have noticed that the OP asked whether or not EDO is of any benefit to 16/44100 playback, which of course it isn't.

I had a HiFace2, Ronnie, and I only relate stuff from personal experience.
My old HiFace2 now lives with a friend who uses it a lot more than I ever would.

Nobody. But seems it was you who introduced the subject of higher sample rates despite the OP not being interested in them.

Right back at you, John Wayne!
