    Do the 3 .mp3 files in the playlist actually exist on the "L" drive?

    Can you browse to them through LMS > My Music > Music Folder

    Have you defined a Music folder at LMS > Settings > Basic Settings, and scanned your music library?

    yes, all setup.

    I can also find the songs through the radio and play them.
    It just does not recognise the m3u file...

    I use JRiver and don't have problem exporting usable playlists:

    did exactly the same...

    and then you move the m3u file into your L:Squeezeboxmusic folder? and scan?

    No, I move it to my Playlist folder, as defined at LMS > Settings > Basic Settings, and scan.
